Diana Vreeland
I recently watched the new documentary, Diana Vreeland: the Eye Has to Travel, and was so inspired by her. I hate to admit it but before watching it all I really knew about her was that she was/is a major fashion icon. It was a beautiful, inspiring documentary and I really felt like I could relate to her on so many levels. If you're looking for something to add to your Netflix queue I would highly recommend it. With the exception of the animation at the very end I would easily give it 5 stars. I loved the documentary so much that I've ordered her autobiography, D.V. I cannot wait to start reading her autobiography!
Also, I finished reading What Remains by Carole Radziwill last week. It was such a good book and so well written. I would highly recommend this as well. Just make sure you keep a box of Kleenex with you.

The Goods 3.8.13
Sort of a random assortment of items on the wishlist today. What can I say? The heart wants what the heart wants. Okay, maybe not that serious. I'll continue.
1. Native Breeze Coverup I LOVE this dress. This dress would be beautiful by the pool, the beach, practically anywhere. You know I love a tassel. This is one I definitely plan to purchase soon.
2. Taj Mahal, India, Vogue 1956 So beautiful. Enough said.
3. Sofia Settee I love this little sofa. It would look great in so many places in my house, and it's such a classic piece.
Have a great weekend! Mwah!

A few things I have fallen in love with over the last week or so...
Bought this vintage fur coat in mint condition. I have been hitting the thrift shop lottery lately! (Sorry for the bad photo, this picture does not do it justice).
I am in love with these Emerson Fry pants. She makes so many great things. If you haven't checked her out, please look her up! Image found via.
This living room is love at first site for me. I don't think there is one thing about this room that I would change, perfection. Spotted via Jamie Meares.
The only reason I started watching The Real Housewives of New York this last year was because of Carole Radziwill. I am finally getting around to reading her memoir, What Remains and while I am only about halfway through it is a really moving memoir.

Spinach Smoothie
I don't know about you but it is definitely time to try to get back into the healthy swing of things. I've been horrible since the holidays and now I have no excuse. Here's where the spinach smoothie comes in. I have been really bad about making these lately but normally the girls and I try to have one every morning and I can really tell a difference when we are having these regularly. The girls love them and so do I. If you're a little worried about the taste of the spinach, don't be. I was skeptical for a long time. The thought of spinach in a blender can be a little hard to look past at first but I promise you can't taste it. So go make one. It's so good!
Recipe:
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1 cup coconut milk (or almond milk)
large handful of fresh spinach
large handful of strawberries (or whatever fruit you have on hand)
1 banana
4-6 ice cubes
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tbsp. lingonberry preserves
Throw it all in the blender and mix it all together. How easy is that?! Change it up however you want. I add the honey and cinnamon in the winter to try to ward off illnesses. So those are totally up to you. The lingonberries I add because Dr. Oz says so. (He says it's the new superfruit and we do what he says, right?)
Have a great Tuesday!

Monday Muse: Jean Shrimpton
I've decided to start a new weekly series called, The Monday Muse. Every Monday I'll be featuring a style icon who has an effortless sense of style and has influenced my own sense of style. I'm starting the series with Jean Shrimpton because, well, oh my goodness, who am I kidding, I love this woman! She was a supermodel in the 1960's, a fashion rebel and British (being British definitely deserves bonus points, right?) I just think she is amazingly gorgeous. In fact, she is who my shoppe and this little blog are named after. If you don't know her, check her out already!
